On June 21, 2010 Alex Bond and David Carson received "Fruit of Distintion" Awards from the Fresh Fruit Festival. This was a terrific event where presentations were made to many award recipients. David and Alex each got an award for Best Special Event. The awards are given to artists in all categories who promote, further, or embrace freedom of expression for LGBT artists. Thank you to all the "Fruities"!!!

Alex and David just completed the 2010 FRIGID New York Festival. They got rave reviews and had a wonderful
time! Special thanks go to Steven Yuhasz our director who polished us up and was a great set of professional eyes and ears for us
AND
special thanks go to Antonio Minino who was our PR/Marketing person who got those reviewers in and took such good care of us.
AND Rico, who did our lights and sound, woo-hoo!
Thank you dear gentlemen!
AND, of course Alex couldn't do a thing without the lovely, talented, dear David L. Carson!!!!!!!!!
AND lest we forget the lady, Susan Baum, who was soooo supportive in hostessing and handling box office interfacing...
... and being Alex's understudy!
AND, last but, my goodness, not least: LEON, the reason Alex lives!

AND NOW -- REVIEW SNIPPETS:
“If the rest of her work is anything like the witty, well-crafted sample that was produced as part of the FRIGID New York
festival, then Late Nights with the Boys: confessions of a leather bar chanteuse is a must-read.”
Byrne Harrison - Stagebuzz
“Truthful, honest … immediately I was charmed” The Happiest Medium
“As funny as it is surprising … The evening's focus on love and acceptance resonates on a larger scale…”
John Peacock - Flavorpill
“This literary performance is truly touching without becoming maudlin (no mean achievement) and Ms. Bond's
memories are heartfelt.” VANLOAN for NYConstage
DAVID CARSON and ALEX BOND have been reading selections from Alex's book for four years now. With directorial guidance from Steven Yuhasz, they have traveled to Dallas, P'town, San Francisco*, and NYC bringing Alex's message of tolerance and an appreciation of the "joie de vivre" of the past to listeners. Please enjoy looking though the photos and reading about the (as yet unpublished) novel's history.

*In San Francisco, my dear, multi-talented friend SUSAN BAUM read the portions of the book I would normally read. (I had to stay in NYC as the understudy for "Flamingo Court".) I am more than grateful to her for doing such a wonderful job! She and David got rave reviews.
